Melt laundry strips for travel

The everyday details · Melt Laundry

For a trip with access to a washing machine or a suitable hand-washing space, laundry strips can save you carrying a full bottle of detergent. Take only what you expect to use, but keep the product name and instructions with your supply.

Plan around your accommodation

Check whether you will have a machine, a laundrette or only a basin. Some accommodation provides detergent or has rules about in-room washing. Knowing this in advance avoids taking products you cannot use or relying on a wash facility that is not there.

Keep strips dry and identifiable

Pack the strips where wet swimwear, toiletries or a leaking drinks bottle cannot reach them. Keep them separate from food and medication. The original labelled pack is useful because it includes the instructions you need when you are away from home.

Choose clothes that fit your washing plan

Check the care labels, drying time and available hanging space. General detergent is not a substitute for any specialist wash a garment requires. If you hand wash, follow the pack instructions and rinse carefully before drying the item as directed.

Before you leave

Check your carrier’s current baggage rules if you are flying. Keep the strips dry and the pack instructions to hand. Away for longer? Move or pause your next Melt subscription delivery through the portal or email us before it is processed.

Can I take just a few strips?

Yes, keep them dry and keep the dosing and safety information with them. Check travel rules where relevant.
