The everyday details · Melt Laundry
Use Melt inside the washing-machine drum. Tear off the amount recommended on the pack for your load, put it in the drum and add your laundry. Choose the programme that suits your clothes and follow their care labels.
Before you start
Separate anything that needs a different wash programme or specialist detergent. Check pockets, garment labels and your machine’s loading instructions. A small basket of lightly worn clothes is different from a large, heavily soiled load, so do not choose the dose by habit alone.
Where the strip goes
Put your chosen dose inside the drum, where wash water can reach it. Do not leave it resting on the outside of the door or trapped in the rubber seal. Leave enough room for the laundry to move; forcing extra clothes into the machine is not a good substitute for a second load.
After the wash
Take clothes out promptly and dry them according to their labels. If you notice a piece of undissolved strip, check loading, placement and the pack instructions before your next wash. Do not put clothes with visible detergent residue straight into a hot dryer.
Keep the remaining pack dry
Close the box after taking a strip. Store it somewhere dry, away from splashes and out of reach of children and pets. Detergent remains a household cleaning product, even when it comes as a light, tidy sheet.
Should I put Melt in the detergent drawer?
Our instructions are to place the strip in the drum. Follow the current instructions on your Melt pack.
