Both laundry sheets and pods put detergent into your wash, but they handle dosing differently. A pod is a sealed dose; a Melt strip can be torn to suit the load according to its instructions. That distinction matters when your wash sizes vary.

Dosing and handling
With Melt, tear the recommended amount and place it in the drum. With pods, follow that product’s instructions and do not cut or open the capsule to reduce the dose. Neither format removes the need to consider load size, soiling and the guidance on its pack.
Storage and safety
Keep both formats dry, in labelled packaging and out of reach of children and pets. A sheet is not harmless simply because it is flat, and a pod should not be left loose in a laundry basket. Check the storage conditions before choosing where to keep either product.
Cost needs a fair comparison
Count the amount recommended for your usual load and include delivery where relevant. Melt’s one-off pack costs £20 delivered in the UK; a standard new subscription is £15 delivered. We do not claim to be cheaper than every pod on sale.
Performance is more than the format
Results depend on the particular product and how it is used. Stains, fabrics and programmes vary. Read the instructions and garment labels, and avoid choosing based only on an assumption that all pods or all sheets behave identically.
Can I use half a pod like half a strip?
Do not cut or open laundry pods. Follow the pod manufacturer’s instructions. Melt strips are designed to be torn for dose adjustment.
