In a shared house, the best laundry system is often the one that avoids confusion. A compact, clearly labelled box can be easier to keep with your own things and take to the washing machine or laundrette.
Keep the pack identifiable
Do not leave loose detergent sheets among clothes or on a communal shelf. Keep the labelled box with its instructions, away from food and out of reach of children and pets. Agree with housemates whether detergent is shared or bought separately.
Choose a dose for your own load
One person’s weekly wash may be small; another may wash sportswear and towels more often. Follow the pack instructions instead of dividing the box by the number of housemates and assuming everyone uses the same amount.
At the laundrette
Check the machine instructions and any rules about bringing your own detergent. Put Melt inside the drum as directed on the pack. Bring enough for the loads you plan to wash and keep the remaining strips dry during the trip home.
Avoid subscription surprises between housemates
If one person manages a shared subscription, make sure everyone knows who is paying and when deliveries are due. Melt can be bought once, or subscribed to at 4-, 8- or 12-week intervals. Change the schedule when people move in, move out or go away.
Is the 8-week option right for every two-person home?
No. It is a starting suggestion, not a fixed usage rule. Base deliveries on your actual wash frequency and dose.
