A detergent bottle is an awkward thing to carry home. It takes up cupboard space, too. Melt puts your laundry detergent into light, dry sheets that fit in a small cardboard box.
That’s the idea we started with in 2021: make the everyday business of washing clothes a little easier. Five years on, it still matters to us.
Less to lift, less to store
Our main pack contains 60 sheets. There’s no heavy bottle to pour from and no scoop to find at the bottom of a box of powder. Keep the carton somewhere dry, take out the amount you need and close it again.
For a small flat, a crowded utility room or anyone who finds bulky shopping a nuisance, that change can make a real difference.
A dose that fits your wash
Some days it’s a few shirts. Other days it’s a basket of muddy clothes. Melt sheets can be torn into smaller pieces, so you can adjust the amount rather than being tied to one fixed dose.
Use the guide on your pack as the starting point. The size of the load, how dirty it is and your water hardness all matter. Give the clothes room to move, and follow their care labels.
A fragrance you can live with
We like fresh laundry to smell lovely without filling the room with perfume. Melt’s fragrance is delicate and subtle. If you prefer a very strong, lingering scent, ours will feel lighter.
A cardboard box instead of a plastic bottle
Melt’s packaging is plastic-free. Once the box is empty, flatten it for your local cardboard recycling collection, following your council’s guidance.
Small packaging doesn’t remove every impact of doing the washing. It does give you a straightforward way to leave the detergent bottle out of your next shop.
Try it in your own routine
Add Melt directly to the drum, use the recommended dose and wash as usual. Keep unused sheets dry. For stubborn stains, follow the garment’s care instructions and pre-treat where appropriate.
